Krystal was in her room sitting on her bed thinking what her next move should be.

“Should I talk to him or keep that awful event separating us forever?” Krystal said to herself.  She knew what the right answer was but didn’t know how to approach Fox with it.  Krystal gathered up her courage and stood in front of the metallic door.  Unknowing to her, Fox was just outside her door thinking of how to bring out his true feelings.

‘Crap what will I say to her? Is she still sore about that night?’ thought Fox.  He clearly realized the mistake he made by putting Krystal in danger like that even if he did save her life.  As metal door to Krystal’s room opened, it seemed as though bother were practicing what they were saying to each other.

“ I’m sorry” they said in unison.  Krystal opened her eyes surprised to see Fox saying what she wanted to hear him say but embarrassed by the awkward moment.  Fox felt the same way.  He didn’t know that Krystal was going to apologize as well.

“Um…good evening Krystal” said Fox as he blushed and put a hand behind his head.  Krystal chuckled.  She thought Fox looked cute with that adorable look on his face.  “Fox I wanted to say that I should have handled myself better that night…” she started.  “Instead of thanking you for saving my life, I acted out of fear and anger at you for not handling it properly.  I should have put that all aside and given you the proper respect that you deserve.”  As she said this, tears were falling from her cheeks.  Fox knew that after Krystal said what she needed to say, that she was truly apologetic about how she acted.  Being the gentlefox he was, Fox offered his apology too.  “Krystal I should be the one apologizing to you.  I should have done a better job as to not take such a huge risk with your life.” He then noticed a small green cloth around Krystal’s neck.  Fox ignored it until he finished what he had to say “Krystal…I’m sorry that I did that and I should have found another option to assure your safety.  But at that moment, I thought I was going to lose you so I used the only option that I thought was necessary.” Fox looked down with an ashamed look on him.  Krystal now realized that Fox was indeed worried and didn’t know what else to do.

“Fox I accept your given apology.  You were just doing what you thought was right” Krystal said as she lifted up Fox’s hanging head.  Fox then asked “Krystal…I don’t mean to be intrusive, but what’s with the green cloth around your neck?” Krystal just looked away from Fox for a moment until she signaled for him to come inside her quarters.  As Fox entered Krystal’s room, Krystal undid the green cloth and revealed a blacked line of fur across her neck.  Fox was in shock to see what Krystal was hiding.  He was brought to the brink of tears.  Krystal knew that Fox was going to act like so she tried her best to ease the pain in his heart.

“Fox please settle down.” Asked a concerned Krystal

Fox was at a loss for words.  “…K-Kr-Krystal I-I nearly m-maimed you…” stuttered Fox.  He almost passed out from what he had seen.  He was overwhelmed with emotion.

“Fox do not worry, it may seem that I’m permanently marked with this minor injury but it’ll heal in a few more days.” Said Krystal.  She knew that Fox was going to beat himself up over this but did not want Fox feeling guilty so she thought up of something that could make the pain in his heart vanish.  She sat next to Fox on her bed where he was holding his head crying his eyes out.  “K-Krystal p-p-please forgive me for what I’ve done.” Exclaimed Fox.  She took Fox’s face so they were facing eye to eye.

“Fox…I forgive you.” She said sincerely.  Fox wiped away his tears and hugged Krystal tightly.  Fox thought of something to keep this moment special.

“Krystal…I have something I need to tell you.” Said Fox with uncertainty.  “It’s something that I feel you should hear.”  Krystal was giving Fox her utmost attention.

“Krystal over the past few years I felt a strong connection between us and I believe that over the years, that connection kept getting stronger and stronger.  What I’m trying to say is that, Krystal I—“ Fox got cut off when Krystal gave him a surprising, passionate kiss.

“I was feeling the same way Fox.” Mused Krystal as she kissed Fox again.

Outside Krystal’s room, Falco and Slippy were listening in on the foxes’ conversation.

“See I told ya that they would kiss and make up” whispered Slippy.

“Dream on toady, my bet is that Fox is going to get a ‘homerun’ with Krystal tonight if you know what I mean” chuckled Falco.

“Falco you owe me 5 credits.” Giggled Slippy.  Falco swallowing his pride and honoring an agreement gave Slippy his winning bet.  They heard an ‘ahem’ behind them.  It was Peppy catching Falco and Slippy intruding on Fox and Krystal’s private conversation.

“What may I ask are you both up to?” demanded Peppy.

Falco being the one to think on his feet and thinking fast, came up with what he thought was the perfect excuse.  “Well you see Peppy, Slippy and I were trying to see who could hold a certain pose the longest and whoever lost their balance owed 5 credits to the winner” Falco said confidently.

“Yeah Yeah that’s what we were doing” Slippy said nervously.

“You think I’m going to fall for that trick you two.  Eavesdropping on your friend and leader over a 5 credit bet!?” Peppy stated.  Peppy went over to Falco and Slippy and grabbed them by the collar.  “I have something both of you can do together without a bet.” Peppy added as he dragged Falco and Slippy into the kitchen.
